The best movies cannot be measured by any means as the term best is pretty subjective. If a movie is viewed by a large number of viewers, there will be a number of people for whom the movie was best or awesome whereas for some it would be simply a movie and some of the viewers may rate the same movie as sub standard. The movie “Night Mare on the Elm Street” or “The Predator” gave birth to a trend and at that time, so many movies coming out on identical lines but every one of them could achieve the level of best, only a few did. Movies like Hot Tub Time Machine, “date with an angel”, “God father”, “the forest Gump”, “the gladiator”, “the good the bad the ugly” or “walk like a man”, “superman”, “Spiderman” can be termed as all-time best but of course there would be a number of people who would rate these movies nowhere close to the best.
There is an agreement within the majority of movie historians, critics, and the viewers that the movies once claimed to be best are obviously a part of the most critically investigated, important, and must-see films of their times. They are the movies which leave everlasting and unforgettable imprints on us. They amuse, please, educate, and hit us emotionally. Most of these best movies were produced years ago and might have been underestimated on first release but the time endured test confirmed them as the best.
